Why do you think my 18 year old's big toenails look like this? He has no medical issues and is on no meds.

Shoes too tight?

Looks like they could be impacted on the corners. I get that too. They could go see a podiatrist to get it checked.

I do think he peels, rather than clips them, but it does look like the laminations are separating.
