CS scars that keep flaring up

I had a 2nd CS 12weeks ago. Post recovery has been quick and easy, but every so often I get a red, almost stubble rash-type rash just above the scar on one side. It feels hotter to touch than the surrounding skin, and is quite sensitive, and slightly swollen. It lasts a couple of days, then resolves with no further discolouration. It last happened at 6weeks when I'd been digging over a border in the garden for an hour or more. This I could understand, I'd definitely been overdoing things, but this time I don't remember doing anything particularly energetic or physically demanding.
From my understanding of healing, 6weeks for soft tissue healing, with a longer period for muscle rehab, what is still swelling? And what am I straining? It doesn't feel muscular, its really superficial. Any ideas anyone? Or anyone with anything similar?

Could it be regrowth of pubic hair that is facing the wrong direction as a result of the way you were stitched?

Nope, this is a couple of inches above my pubic hair line. But yes, it looks similar to that, yet is definitely not hair follicles.

My scar is doing this too at nearly 5 mo. It doesn't swell so much but feels quite raw, a bit like chafing. And my tummy still feels like it has no strength in it- I still struggle to get out of the bath. Haven't mentioned it to anyone though.

Didn't have a rash but scar area felt sensitive and raw for at least 10 months. My GP said that scar had healed well, and speculated that what I was feeling was nerve damage, probably due to internal stitches pulling nerves about. The affected area has got smaller and smaller so now it's only a couple of millimetres around the scar that feels sore.
Ionesmum - my tummy muscles were completely gone! I was a regular gym goer before I got pg and kept up swimming as much as possible through the pregnancy but months after my section I couldn't even do 3 gentle sit-up exercises. I've been working on them very gradually since my scar felt better, and it's getting better slowly. (Still got a belly like a kangeroo pouch though ).

bluebear- this makes me feel much better! I did have some internal stitches that were incredibly painful when I moved so perhaps that it it.

Incidentally, my "dh" has suggested that the soreness is caused by "your fat belly". Surprisingly enough, I haven't kicked him out. Yet.
