I think my ds who is 2 as got chicken pox I picket him up from nursery yesterday and he had 5 prominent red spots 4 on his face and 1 on his scalp which they said appeared approx about 4pm, he's now got approx 14 on his face, however he doesn't seem to have them anywhere else and he is still fine in himself. I have kept him off and the dr said it does look like chicken pox how is it likely to progress and do you think it sounds like chicken pox?

There has been quite a few posts on this topic in the last two weeks, maybe you could search for those messages?

yes, it does sound like chicken pox, and especially as the Dr agrees.

It's also going round his nursery and we had a letter home to tell us. It's all new to me though so not sure what to expect??

I'm at home with DS with about 10 spots so far - his sister had it 2 weeks ago and her spots came out over about 7 days. Everyone else said that they would be all over her in hours. But guess it must be different for everyone!

Her spots didn't itch at all but went to the cemist just incase and was given piriton and aqueaous (sp?) cream with calamine lotion mixed in.

Just bored of being stuck at home now!

I think my son is going to be like that, he's had no more come out since this morning he's probably got about 14 in total but just on his face they aren't itching them and he's not ill in any way either

Hi does anyone know if you can give Piriton to a 5 year old - I bought a new bottle and see it says not for under 6 but I am sure this wasn't always the case. Can anyone help?
