Hi, I had an ear infection about 3 weeks ago, really quite a bad one, extreme pain and a burst eardrum, had anti-bots and it cleared the pain and the weeping.

Since then though, in the last week, I've had another virus, not so bad at all, just a sore throat and feeling tired, but my ears are now both really deaf! I really can't hear too well at all but I don't have earache anymore.

Has anyone had similar? How long did the ears take to clear after an ear infection - do I need to ask about ear drops? I was told not to take them if I'd had a burst eardrum but it's getting so debilitating and I want to HEAR!

TIA.

I think you should be going back to the GP. Don't try and self-treat it, let the GP have a look.

hmm, ok, sensible advice. He looked at me over his glasses and told me the ears could take up to two months to clear so I felt a bit like I shouldn't be going back for this

btw WWB I saw the pics on your profile, and have to say, your dd is just so gorgeous

Thank you! I think she's gorgeous too, but I fear I'm a little biased

I know that it can take a while for ears to clear up, but as you've now got different symptoms and it's so debilitating, I'd still be going back.

yes, I think you're right. I wonder if I need more antibots to be honest, I was still having earache on the last day of taking the previous lot and couldn't quite believe they would see it off. I guess they haven't!.

Thanks WWB.
