I'm diabetic and get my flu jab every year. I've been in bed since last we'd. I went to the docs yesterday where he confirmed I have flu that was the first time I've left the house since Wed I feel even worse today think going out really took it out of me. I just want to feel better. Other than rest fluids and paracetamol how else can I shift it?

I'm on day 3. Soon I have to get up and do a round trip of 1 hour in the car to drop kids off at childcare. Husband is away with work all week and no family close by. I feel like I've been run over and stamped on... need to sleep! 😣 everything hurts. What did the GP say? I haven't been as it seemed pointless to sit in the waiting room for an hour to be told what I already know.
Are you eating at all? Get well soon x

I feel for you both. Just starting to feel better after three weeks. I did not feel like eating so bought Lucozade but now it's low sugar it does not work! I bought lots of fruit but did not have the strength to cut it up. Hope you feel better soon.

Yesterday I was totally worn out I think the trip to the docs was too much I don't leave my bedroom all day. The doc gave me antibiotics he said with my diabetes I need to get well asap. I managed a bowl of melon and lots of vimto. I'm still in bed today trying to decide if I should have a shower and go down stairs. Hope you both start to feel better soon.

I have to collect my children soon in the car as mother in law wouldn't help. Angry I'm not feeling the love today!

You realise who has your back when you need then don't you. How old are your children are they able to help you at home? When is your husband back? Mine was away the first 2 days I was ill it was hard.

He's back tomorrow. Eldest is able to get breakfast for youngest and have a go at brushing his teeth. They are very good really. Pissed off MIL would rather go out to lunch than help. Ah well

Yes DH is doing everything so I can rest. I'm very bored but need to be in bed, if I get up everything is too over whelming. I also have about 20 mouth ulcers- nice!

How are you today OP? Are you managing to eat anything?

jmh740 · 23/03/2018 19:10

Does a bag of quavers count as eating? Dd got them for me after my friend dropped her off. Asked oh to get me some icelollies. I came down stairs to answer the door around 2 and have stayed down feel like I need to go back to bed now. I'm really bored and sick of the sight of my bedroom walls
