Cold and wet hair

Please can someone help confirm this to help me out in an argument with my husband.

I have just gotten over a bad cold and am back at the gym today for the first time. I showered and made my way home and my hair is damp/wet from the shower. I was outside walking to my car for about a minute. It is minus 2 here but my exposure to the icy temps was minimal.

He is cross because he says going out in the cold with wet hair is going to make me sick again. Having a hot shower followed by exposure to the cold will give me a cold. I should have at least been wearing a hat to stop losing all my body heat. I told him not to be ridiculous colds are caused by viruses, not by wet hair in the cold that is an old wives tale. He has now told me not to be stupid and to start taking care of myself...and he is genuinely angry. I am pissed off at being lectured to like I am a child.

Who is right/wrong here? Help!!

He's wrong you are right.

Going out with wet hair does not give you a cold! Your husband is wrong.
A cold is a virus, you cannot catch a virus by going outdoors with wet hair!
It may make you feel physically cold at this time of year but this in itself will not actually make you ill. Tell him to stop being daft!!

He's wrong! Both about the cold and to lecture you like a child.

You are right and he is wrong(ish) Having wet air in the cold can't cause a cold. However, there has been research to show that it could lower your immunity so if you'd been exposed to the cold virus it could make you slightly more likely to catch a cold. You could throw your husband that crumb! 😉

Tell your DH to stop treating you like a 5 year old and to find somethng worthwhile to exercise his brain on. Why is he ‘cross’? What the hell difference does it make to him if your hair is damp or not? Fuck’s sake he sounds like either a controller or a limp lettuce whose mummy insisted he didn’t ‘risk’ going out with wet hair when HE was a child.

Tell him 1940 rang and wants their outdated attitudes to infection and women’s role in marriage back please.
