Medication to temporarily stop period whilst on hols!

Can anyone tell me the name of tablets which stop your period temporarily. I wondered about having some for when I go to Center Parcs (think will be due AF) and don't use tampons/mooncup, although might try mooncup soon.
Do the tablets completely stop flow or is it just reduced, as that wouldn't be any good. Side effects etc? Thanks in advance.

ive had a pill before as i wasnt on the pill and it was too late to get into the rhythm of it. Cant remember what tehy were called but they stopped it totally. I just asked my GP

No - I know it's not the pill (contaceptive pill). Defo don't want to go back on pill. I was before DCs and often back to backed it but don't want to start taking that again. There is defo a tablet that does it but can't remember what it's called - will have to ask GP. Just wondered what side effects were etc.

why not just use tampons

It's called Norethisterone. IIRC you take it about mid cycle and keep on taking it. Once you stop AF starts a few days later.
