My daughter is now 16 weeks old. I haven't had her vaccinated. I have been trying to make the best decision for her. Can any body please share experiences with me regarding difficulties with vaccinations or wishing they did/didn't vaccinate. I have booked an appointment for a few weeks time but I just can't get me head around the thought of pumping my small baby with chemicals which I feel could cause more harm than good. Please share any experiences which can help me make this decision thanks mummys xx

What made you that should have read.

Have the vaccine or you hurt your children and increase the chances of other children dying.

Love to you all.

I’d urge you to watch the YouTube video posted by sirlee66 on the first page.

DS is 16 months, and has had all his scheduled vaccinations, plus chicken pox privately. He cried for all of them, was a bit clingy afterwards, and had a slight temperature.

For me, the benefits massively outweigh the risks. I am confident that I have done the best thing for him.

DH nearly died of meningitis aged 20. He was so, so lucky to survive. It was horrific. He still has associated health issues over 10 years later. I’m so glad we’ve done all we can to protect DS from that.

I delayed infant vaccinations and didn't give the others (MMR, men c etc) to my children. We lived abroad and UK. Kids are fine. Also no asthma, allergies, learning disorders, atopic disorders etc.

@StarUtopia He's a conspiracy theorist, uses the same emotive language, paranoid ramblings, grandiose claims and hyperbole. Other than his own claims to have in-depth knowledge on the subject he offers no evidence, research or statistics to back his claims or even form a logical counter argument.

StarUtopia · 18/03/2018 12:45

Lucie Evidence?

Funny how people who are adamant that vaccines are safe (they're not by the way) are so quick to dismiss anyone at all who speaks up medically as a conspiracy theorist!! I'm not sure it's me who needs to do research.

Pratchet Same here.

Patchwork Sorry about your son. My brother nearly died from meningitis, contracted after the measles injection. He is now autistic, he wasn't before at all, and it has completely affected our family. Most of us who are wary around vaccines have had direct experience of the potential dangers of taking them.

I would also urge all people to be extra careful if you have had the meningitis jab. I have a lot of friends who immediately dismiss the possibility of this just because they've had the jab so therefore they're safe. My brother didn't actually have the rash at all. By all means have the jab, but please don't believe your child is immediately protected and definitely won't be at danger. It doesn't cover all strains. It's a good one to have for sure, but I worry that children will die because of this jab (not the jab, the false belief it gives parents)

I have repeatedly said that there are side effects to vaccines, furthermore there is the possibility of a severe reaction to a vaccine. However, the statistical likelihood of experiencing a severe reaction to a vaccine is less than that of the likelihood of contracting one of the diseases.

Research is more than reading around a subject and cherry picking which bits support your argument. It's all about using credible sources and reliable evidence.

Pratchet · 18/03/2018 14:01

I don't know Luce tbh it's hard to tell because they don't record all the adverse effects. But it's up to the parents and no one should feel bad if they do or they don't.

StarUtopia · 18/03/2018 16:03

Agree with Pratchet. My best friend's little boy nearly died after his MMR. Was it recorded? NO!!! Seriously. And worse. she still took her daughter for hers, who also suffered an adverse reaction. Was that one recorded? No again. Why not? She genuinely didn't know you could record it and not once did a Doctor suggest that it should be recorded.I've asked her to record it now (2 yrs on) but she feels it's best left in the past now and thankfully both children came back round (in her own words, she lost her little boy for a good 2 months until the light switched back on) . How many other parents are there out there like this?

You might want to check out the data for the HPV vaccine with that statement of yours. Have you got a link for that?
