I've had sinus problems for years and finally was going to get some relief this week with surgery to remove a lot of polyps. Then the cancelled letter came Sad so disappointed
Anyone had this how long were they waiting for a new date?
It can't be helped and there was every chance this could happen but it was so close 😩

My dad (different op to you) was prepped and ready to go down to theatre for surgery when his operation was cancelled because there was no bed for him afterwards. He was told that he had to be offered another date within 28 days.
Not sure whether this is a timescale all hospitals have to work to or if it is just one that our local NHS Trust has adopted.

That sounds awful milly. I guess I just have to wait for letter or phone call. I get a lot of colds and sinus infections and ironically my nose is good right now so was a perfect time. Plus child care all arranged holiday taken at work for both me and DH what a nightmare.

When this happened to me a few weeks ago (totally different type of op, time-sensitive so fairly urgent but not emergency) I was also told the new date would be within 28 days and it was.

My dates were:

23 Jan (cancelled on the day)
26 Jan (cancelled the day before)
06 Feb (was touch & go re bed availability on the day, but went ahead)
