Your recommendations for 'up tempo' tunes for ipods to improve our motivation and pace when running / exercising

handlemecarefully · 05/05/2007 21:57

I have belatedly got an Ipod and found that it has made a massive difference to my running (it seems more effortless when I have good music to listen to, especially 'up tempo' stuff)...

Here are some of my suggestions for music to 'get your pace up' - what are yours?:

Underground Spell: Born Slippy
Whale:Hobo Humping Slobo babe
Run DMC: Walk this way
Run DMC: It's like that
Blur: Song 2
Faithless: Insomnia
PF Project: Choose Life
U.S.U.R.A: Open Your Mind

Would appreciate some other suggestions to add to playlists for my running....

katrina nad the waves?
bowie siffragett city

hatwoman · 19/05/2007 13:00

HMC - Faithless Insomnia is the best turn to run to isn;t it? I'm crap at collecting music so my ipod is a poor show. the sound track from Baz Lurhman's Romeo and Juliet has some great songs - best of all Young things run free...by someone or other and there's a great sinister/aggressive-ish one - kind of the same vibe as insomnia. I'm not much use am I....

CODalmighty · 19/05/2007 13:01

i tell yya
soundtrakc to queer as "folk"

CODalmighty · 19/05/2007 13:05

but i htink hmc wants liek real music not a er er er er er erer sound

Tatat · 21/05/2007 13:59

theres a brilliant one by eminem, dubious lyrics as you'd expect, basically how he's the spawn of the devil (the devil being his mum) but it's got a killer "bounce" to it and i can't help but run well when it's on
(When I say RUN i actually mean travel a bit faster than normal and move my arms about)

moondog · 21/05/2007 14:01

Sympathy for the devil

Rolling Stones
poss. best song ever.

handlemecarefully · 21/05/2007 18:38

Here's one "Tiger Feet" by Mud

handlemecarefully · 21/05/2007 21:51

'Come with me' (originally by Puff Daddy featuring Jimmy Page) - it was the theme tune to Godzilla

and, very short but worth it 'Coney Island Girl' by the Fun Lovin Criminals

Moondog - looks like it's you and me now keeping this going. Have you downloaded any itunes as a result of this thread? I have found it really hugely useful (thanks everyone)

handlemecarefully · 21/05/2007 21:53

handlemecarefully · 12/06/2007 20:54

Okay who sings that 'poppy' track that goes:

"All over, all over, all over yeeaah!"

Heard it on the music channels on Sky but couldn't crane my neck around to see the artist since was having hair cut at the time (by sexy hetero male motor bike riding bit of stuff incidentally)

It's not a particularly new release

handlemecarefully · 12/06/2007 21:04

Blardy hell - noone? And I sang it so well...

Lizzylou · 12/06/2007 21:18
