Rubella

There's been a case of rubella at my children's nursery. Ds is immunised against it but 9 month old dd had a fever on Friday, has been off her food a bit and unsettled all weekend (thought it was teething) and has now got a rash on her back which might be sweat rash...I'm probably getting worked up over nothing...but how contagious is rubella?
Has anyone seen the rash -shouldn't it be all over?

DS1 had rubella. When was the nursery case? ds1 contractedhis exactly when he should have according to the incubation period (I knew he had been exposed- 2 incubation IIRC). The rash looked exactly like a sweat rash- he wasn't ill at all just bored as he had to stay off nursery. DS2 had sniffles at the same time but no rash so not sure whether he had it (prob not as I have good rubella immunity and he was still young and bfed).

BTW its good if it is rubella- offers much better protection to get it naturally than rely on the vaccine- and obviously for a girl it is important she has protection.

sorry that should be 2 WEEK incubation period iirc. He didn't have much of a rash on his face btw. it's meant to start behind the ears, but I can't remember if I noticed with ds1.
