Strange one but it's starting to worry me...

Hi all.
I have a bit of a strange one. I am having trouble with the big toe on my left foot. I can't stretch it it out for example to put on my socks or shoes. It feels like something is pulling inside it. I have no trouble walking or anything but I noticed today it's completely numb on one spot. Its starting to worry me now.
Anyone any ideas or experience anything similar??

Ta.

My first thought is Gout. When you say numb, do you mean pins and needles?

secretgirl · 27/02/2018 21:29

No pins and needles. Its numb to the touch on one spot. I cant feel anythjng.

Ask to see a podiatrist, sounds like something to do with a nerve if numbness is there. I had a numb toe second one in from little one. Turns out it was a mortons neuroma and cortisone injection sorted it, although only lasted for a few years, can feel it beginning again.

There is one nerve that supplies that and is routinely tested in full neurological exams (the big toe) sounds a bit weird but worth getting checked. Reassuring there is nothing in other locations or higher up your leg (can you point your foot to the ceiling ?) Could be a mononeuritis
Translation not worrying from this side of my screen but sounds like it's a nerve and not silly at all to get this checked out properly

That's so much for the replies.
Leghoul I can point my toe atvtje ceiling but there's a pull down along it into the numb on bone. Its a weird feeling. Its not pins and needles but a fuzzy feeling if you get me😁. Its definitely weird.
I'll take a trip to the doc soon. I thought it might go as I didn't want to give 50 quid for my big toe 😁.
