bleeding during/after sex

Sorry if this is a bit gross for first thing in the morning. Up until a month ago i hadnt had sex for about a year. when i started again i was tighter but nothing uncomfortable or anything.

On Tuesday when i got off of my partner he was covered in blood which he wiped off and checked himself and we realised it seemed to be coming from me.

There was some fresh blood but there was also some whatlooked like "old" blood. i wasnt due on til next week so assumed maybe my period had come early, however today there is now no blood and im very confused.

Tuesday during the day i felt a bit dodgy in that my stomach was cramping which is why after the bleeding i just assumed i had come on. yesterday i had worse cramping and actually thought i could be sick with it hurting so much.

sorry such a long post. i just dont know if its because i "have been out of action" for a while, whether it was/is my period or if something more serious is going on.

any ideas please as im reluctant to go to the doctor as i have just registered at a new practice and dont want my first appointment to involve my lady bits.

TIA

Go to the doctor. Bleeding after sex should always be investigated, it could be something harmless but you really should get it checked out.

I've had this from a cervical erosion/evasion/whatever it's called this week. Definately worth getting checked, I'm afraid.

Did you feelany discomfort during intercourse? I'm guessing not, which, combined with the cramping, does sound like it might be something uterine or cervical ...

Thanks for your replies. No i didnt feel any pain or discomfort and it was only after i was on top that i was bleeding and then afterwards when my partner was on top i didnt notice anything.

have booked an appointment for half ten today. it was just strange that i had the cramping during the day on tues which was before i had sex but yesterday was really bad.

Hmmm, it sounds like he may have caught your cervix at a funny angle, maybe?

Well it was after i was on top so knowing me ive done something silly.

i guess i will just have to see what the doctor says

Ok am back. the doctor did a pregnancy test which i knew would be negative as my partner has been sterilised and im on the pill.

said the entrance to my womb was inflamed which could be caused by the pill and took some swabs and im to phone up next Tues for the results.

Thanks for making me see sense and booking an app
