Twitching muscles stopping me sleeping.

I hope someone can give me some help with this. For the past 4 or 5 nights,I have been kept awake by twitching muscles. It is exactly like restless leg syndrome, but all over & is driving me to distraction.I also get a 'burning sensation' in my calf, which comes & goes.

I am 99% sure that it is anxiety that is causing it,as it happened once before when I was very stressed out.I had been taking Fluoxetine for depression/anxiety,but stopped a week ago as I felt better & we are currently ttc.I don't really want to go to my GP,as my anxiety had previously caused all sorts of symptoms & I feel a bit of a fraud to keep going down there.

It rarely happens during the day,or if I am reading in bed,but the minute I try to sleep,it starts.Poor DH has to put up with me wriggling about & getting up to walk around.

Any advice?TIA

A friend of mine had something like this and she said some slow yoga in the evening seemed to stretch out the muscles and calm them down a bit, as well as lowering her stress levels. I can't comment on this as I don't like yoga so it actually increases my stress levels when I do it.

I had really bad restless legs and drinking a glass of tonic water before bed really helped. Not the diet one as it contains something that makes it worse. Its worth a try

calcium tablets almost always cure restless leg syndrome.
