Help! I could sleep for England

Can anyone advise me. I've got 3 kids who have all had problems sleeping over the years and until recently I was woken up at least once a night by DS#2, I also work more or less full time. So I have got used to being tired a lot of the time but I've always been energetic and active and an early riser. A few weeks ago I tore some ligaments in my ankle and I've been more or less grounded since then. I used to run 3 times a week in the early am, and go for a 1.5 hours karate class. Now I'm reduced to a slow hobble when I walk anywhere and all the real exercise is out of the window. But at the same time as I stopped running I have been soooo tired - I mean wiped out! I can fall asleep anywhere and I can't wake up in the mornings. It's totally unlike me.

What is going on? Is it do with stopping the exercise? Any ideas please.

I think it's your body's way of telling you you need to rest - the years of sleepless nights and what most people would consider a lot of exercise, as well as working full time, are taking it's toll.

If you are really concerned, you could ask your GP for a blood test.

But mostly likely rest and eating well will help.

Thanks Belgo. Maybe that's it. If it carries on too long I will go and see the GP. DH is getting seriously annoyed with me falling asleep downstairs in the evenings or going up to bed hours before he does.

your dh should be more supportive. Can he help out with housework, shopping etc, to give you a break?

orm yes i think it is to do with the sudden lack of exercise, if im at home all day with not alot to do by the night time i am knackered, but if ive been out all day i am more awake of a night time
