Dd having severe constipation paed said she was holding it in and she does seem to be she becomes very distressed as do we and this can go on all night. She has been taking laxoberal and liquid paraffin for a year now and this is still going on from time to time and can get very severe so that we have to increase the dose. Anybody had similar problems, any advice!!!

my dd was chronically constipated for about a year. I suspect she was holding on to it. She is now on movicol powder, 1 sachet a day, which just goes in a drink. (have not experience of laxoberol, but lactulose did nothing for her).

Shes been on this for about 4 months now (HV says it can take 6-12 months for bowel to shrink back to normal size so is long term course). She now poos at least 3 times aday!! TMI! Ranging from lots of little tiny ones to a couple of normal ones. Think it may be nearly time to come off it and see what happens.
How old is your dd? mine is 3.
Good luck x
