I have just discovered that my daughter aged 9 has pulled out about 15 or so eyelashes, she thinks a few weeks ago. She said that they were annoying her and just pulled them. There is a bald spot from right at the edge of her right eye towards the middle of her eye upper lid. REALLY BALD. Will they grow back?

Yes - but it will take a few weeks.

I'd have a chat with her to check if anything was upsetting her, leadiing to her pulling them out. It might be an anxiety reaction that is best nipped in the bud, before it becomes habbit forming. A girl in my class in school pulled all hers out - they did eventually grow back but she looked a little odd without any.

Oh my God I didn't think that it would be anything to do with anxiety. I hope that they grow back and quickly! I have spoken to her about pulling them and she said that they were just annoying her. I do remember that a few were kind of curled downwards towards her eye, which may be pretty annoying. I hope that is all that it was.
