Hi ya

Does anyone else's child have this at the moment, it seems to be viral, but doesn't present with any other symptoms other than those related to fever, i.e. hallucinations etc.

My ds has had it since 8pm last night and i've managed to keep the temp down with nurofen, but now he's suffering again tonight, currently in my bed, after starting the night in his own.

Feel so sorry for the poor wee man and dreading my 18mth old getting it.

Any suggestions on cooling him down and controlling the fever greatly appreciated Beks

Hi Beksmum, you still there?
I give my dc's a wipe over with a lukewarm flannel when they get like this, especially around the head and neck, then leave to dry.
A friend's ds, 4, had this a couple of weeks ago.
I get a bit spooked by the hallucinations, you sound very calm!
Hope you have a not-too-bad-night.

Cools sponging, alternate calpol and nurofen. If this doesn't work then strip him off, sponge down with cool water and sit in front of a fan.
If this doesn't help then off to A&E I feel.

Best of luck-went through this a couple ofweeks ago-not pleasant.
