How often does your ds (age 4ish) pee at night?

Title says it all really - dh is convinved that ds2 (4.5) pees too much from bedtime to morning time - 3 large amounts yesterday at 9pm, 11pm and sometime in the middle of the night in bed (). This was after he had done his bedtime wee at 7.30pm and nothing else to drink. It has become a fairly frequent pattern and in the last couple of months has wet the bed at least once a night probably 2-3 times a week (and sometimes more than once and more often in a week). It doesn't hurt to wee and he has no obvious signs of infection.

Is it normal or is dh right to be mildly concerned?

Is he very thirsty thro' the day? Does he seem well in himself?

ds (nearly 4) goes once at 7pm at bedtime, then maybe once more later on, but thats about it. also we hear him run across the landing to the toilet, at high speed, at 7am-ish!

Well my ds is 4 in August, he has one pee before bed and that is it until he wakes in the morning.
If you are not giving drinks before bed, and he doesn't have an infection, then I can't think of what to suggest really!
Not much help sorry, but will bump it for someone who can help

maybe once a fortnight, normally he goes about 7.30pm - 7am

ChasingSquirrels · 30/04/2007 14:52

how long has he been out of nappies at night? maybe he just isn't ready yet.

somersetmum · 30/04/2007 14:54

dd goes either before her bath or before she goes to bed - so somewhere between 7pm and 8pm. It is very unusual for her to need the toilet again before morning.

hannahsaunt · 30/04/2007 15:39

He's been out of night nappies since the beginning of January and was more than ready to abandon them. This has been a relatively recent thing although he has always drunk a lot; he is very well in himself although we do know (and are waiting to see the endo consultant) that there is an issue with his growth (not quite sure how not growing and peeing lots are related but who knows???).

Dh has decided we need to see the GP so we're off there on Friday.

It is wise to go to Gp. His overnight weeing sounds excessive to me.

definately some sort of issue if he has been dry at night then, hope it gets sorted soon
