DS (12 months) is apparently due for 'BST HIBMC'. Which is what in English?

Doesn't sound like MMR, but i thought that was due at 12 months.

I think the hibmc is Hib and meningitis c. don't know what bst is.

Also, can't remember what Hib vaccinates against.

It doesn't seem to match up with the red book vac. schedule. I'm wondering if bst means booster?

I feel stupid phoning up and asking for a 'bst hibmc', and don't want him to have it if he doesn't need it.

Their phone is permanently engaged anyway this afternoon.

Its the hib/meningitis c booster. For information about what it protects against try this .
The schedule has recently changed and the MMR is being given at about 14 months.

So even though he had it at 2, 3, 4 months he needs this as well. Is that right?

Yes, it's a vaccine for menigitis that they now give at the first set, but are 'boosting' children who missed it if they are under a certain age.

gingergirl · 30/04/2007 15:17

AFAIK yes, but you can always check before he is given the vaccination.
