Abnormal bleeding, any ideas?

Hi, I don't really know where to start with this thread. I am though worried about my period this month as I have now been bleeding for 12 days which is really unusual for me. I started early with brown stuff and then had a day of heavy red blood and now I am losing clots and having like a brown watery discharge. I usually have a seven day period and this is the first time I have ever had a problem like this. I am at a lose as to what it might be. I was wondering if this sounded like anything anybody else has had before and what it might be. I have also been feeling really sick and had bad headaches for the last two days but I'm wondering if that is down to me being out in the sun for a couple of hours. Thanks in advance.

I don't know could you perhaps go to your gp??

I hope someone can help you soon so bumping this up for you xx

bleeding irregularly, and passig clots and bleeding for longer than normal does need checking out ASAP

go to the docs, they can put your mind at rest

might be an infection, and a course of ABs will put you right

any chance you have a tampon that you have forgotten about ??

Aufish · 29/04/2007 21:19

Nope not a tampon, use towels. Was planning on making an appointment for the doctors but am that kind of person who doesn't like to bother them. I had an infection of my womb after my 3rd child was born but with that I had a really bad smell, thought it would be the same if I had another one.

abnormal bleeding needs checking

do you have a coil?

Aufish · 29/04/2007 21:21

No I was steralised 4 years ago and now use nothing for protection. Looks like my local friendly doctor will be having a visit from me tomorrow.

See a doctor.

There can be many causes, but they all need to be explored by a physician.

Could be a fibroid or a uterine polyp.
