I posted about partners cough a few days ago. He's had it for almost 12 weeks. One clear xray. Another doctors appt Monday to check him out. Has had nasal sprays, hasn't cleared it.
Already had a cancer worry with him last year, plus I had a scare with a neurological issue which may have been serious.
Really worried this will be bad news eventually. My mum died of lung cancer due to smoking.
Partner has never coughed, still walks or swims everyday after work, no breathing trouble, no exposure to dodgy substances.
Anyone had a good result from chronic coughing.
Just need to curb my anxiety a bit.

There are some horrible viruses around at the moment with bad coughs. Also you should ask about asthma. Do you live in a very polluted area? My friend suddenly developed a cough last year that just didn’t go. He saw an asthma specialist and despite never having had asthma as a child even they found he was asthmatic. He lives on a busy road in Wandsworth where traffic is constant. The asthma nurse has suggested he move. But inhalers have helped enormously.

Last year I had a cough that lasted a couple of months. It was just a cough..

I've had a few coughs lasting 3 months or so over the last 10-15 years. Diagnosed as silent reflux which eventually goes away. Apparently sometimes When I get normal cold/virus and start coughing it damages my oesophagus which starts up the reflux and that sets the cough off properly. Proton pump inhibitors for a few weeks help sort it out. Finger crossed for you.

I had a cough that lasted over 4 months. I thought it would never go, but it just gradually very gradually got better on its own. And it was just a cough, nothing more sinister.
