Teething and pain relief, advice needed

Ds is going through hell at the moment as he has got his four eye teeth and four molars all coming through at the same time. The top four have cut through and the bottom four are visible but haven cut yet. During the day he is okay with homeopathic powders, Anbesbol liquid, etc.. but at night the only thing that cuts the pain and allows him a little sleep is to give him Medised and Neurofen. Even with this combo he is up ay midnight screaming the house down, and things are a lot worse if he has nothing before bed. I am totally exhausted at the moment and am beginning to worry I am using the pain relief as a crutch to allow myself a couple of hours "off" in the evening, although an early night is totally laughable (but that's a whole other kettle of fish!) I don't give him another dose during the night. I am beginning to get worried as I have been haivng to dose him up now for ten days. I have been meaning to go to the doctor to ask her, but what with my dad being in hospital and various other stresses I haven't got round to it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think the medicine would do him any harm, especially as you're only giving it at night. Go to the doctors if you are worried but be warned, I have found doctors to be quite dismissive about the whole teething thing. Poor bubs, I remember reading somewhere that teething pain is on a par with labour pain. Shame we can't give them gas and air or pethadine eh?!1 (Only joking of course!). My 4m old is just starting teething and seems to have good days and bad days.
