DD2 had her MMR a week last thursday, this week she has had a temp (some days had a temp some days not) Yesterday she had 1 runny nappy. Last night she was burning up so gave medicine, this morning was really hot still so been topping up nurofen she went down for her nap as usual and has woken up without temp but is miserable as sin, every 2 mins she is screaming for no reason (but as if she's in pain?) If i sit her on my lap she stays for 5 mins then gets down but is so clumsy (not usually that clumsy) and falls over, doesnt hurt herself but screams, screams if her sister has something she wants etc so is basically just screaming every 2 mins for nothing all I can think is all this is side effects of her MMR. Dp is out on a corporate football day so i'm on my own. Any words of sympathey or anything more i can be doing for her?

Im letting her play when she wants, cuddle when she wants etc and have asked her sister to be very lienient with her today (have asked this all week actually) I gave her some calpol about 15mins ago even though she hasn't got a temp I thought maybe she has woken with a headache or aches or something and she has been slightly better since that.

Must add normally she is a very chilled, independent child and is happy though is reaching the tantrum/ not sharing phase. She is 19mths.

My dd also also had a nasty reaction. very whingy, wouldn't sleep, high temperature etc. The most worrying thing was she regressed physically - began crawling again (she had been walking for over 6 mths). The "good" news is that the symptoms only lasted 3 weeks. It's so horrible when your toddler turns into a child you don't recognise. I think HPs should be more honest about the side effects of the MMR.

Hello my DS had his MMR about 10 days ago. He is generally ok but has been crying out at night a bit, feels very hot a lot of the time, and seems a bit more disagreeable than normal. Yesterday he had some spots on his face and arms, but they could have been caused by the heat and have gone today. He seems much more tired than normal as well. I am guessing they just feel generally a bit under the weather, and dont understand why, so it makes them grumpy and sad. Poor loves. Hope your DD gets better quickly. Are you worried at all or just finding it all a bit much with no DP around today????

Just the sudden burts of long screaming are starting to become draining now, off into town for a walk and to get out of the house!! at least dp is taking both of them round his mums tomorrow while i get some stuff done!! I've coped all week while he's been at work just would be nice to be able to do this together nevermind. He did help this morning while i lay in bed til 9.30 i came down and he'd cleaned the kitchen and i did get some peace while she had a nap for about an hr n half so long enough to have a bath.
