Pain low in my abdomen - what’s going on?

I woke up early this morning with a very sore pain low down on the left side of my abdomen. Almost on top of where I imagine my left ovary to be.
It’s been sore on and off all day, making me feel quite queasy at times.
I’ve been drinking lots of water, and some cranberry juice....just cos that’s what was in the fridge and I like it. I haven’t eaten much at all though, no appetite, most unusual.
I realised last time I went to the loo that the pain gets noticeably worse when I’m peeing - would that mean uti even though there’s no burning or cystitis type symptoms?
I’m meant to be going away for the weekend tomorrow, but right now I’m struggling to get up the stairs because it’s just really hurting Sad

Could be a hernia?

Can you feel a lump at all? Does pushing in the area that hurts relieve the pain?

Dancinggoat · 25/01/2018 22:43

Could it be back pain. Sounds mad but back pain can hurt in the pelvic area in women and in testicles in men.

No lump, and pushing seems to sort of move the pain over to the left side.
I’m in my early 50s with a Mirena coil, so I’m fairly certain it’s not anything pregnancy related

Over to the right side, that should say, fgs, it’s stopping me thinking properly!

Can you phone your gp for an urgent appointment tomorrow morning?
Or maybe a gp will be along in a mo for better advice...
Hope you manage to go on your weekend away

Cystitis doesn't always present with the burning feeling. Keep going with the water and if you feel no better tomorrow try and see a doctor, be such a shame for it to ruin your weekend!

I’m going to phone gp first thing, my mum has just talked me through the old fashioned way to feel if it’s your appendix....and if she’s right with her info then maybe it could be that Shock

Do get medical advice before you travel.

Severe lower left abdo pain near your ovary, plus loss of appetite, are among the typical symptoms of sigmoid diverticulitis - which can in turn give rise to bladder symptoms because of crossover inflammation. (I am always banging on about diverticulitis on here, having suffered badly myself).

Hope you feel better, and/or get some help from your doctor, soon.

Update - I went for a wee in the night and it was so sore I actually yelped, but now I’ve got no pain at all, totally fine!

Did you get to the GP ok?
Hope you're still feeling good 🤞🏼
