Hello, just wondering if anyone has any similar experience to mine and can help as I’m getting nowhere with my problem. Since having second child three years ago I have had 12 day menstural periods (3 days brown blood but heavier than spotting five days of heavy period blood and hen it peters out to four days of lighter brown blood). I’ve been to the gp so many times, had ultrasounds all come back normal. Told it’s stress and it will sort itself out, had numerous hormonal symptoms like heart falling out, pmt, fatigue, libido on the floor etc. Three years on and fed up paid to see private gyno, he was sure it would be low progesterone, all the symptoms fit so had he test, it’s come back normal, good levels in fact. Also had a ca125 test to ease my mind and that’s come back normal too. In order to talk to him more I’ve got to pay another £150, the blood tests have already cost £250 so this is costing me a lot and I don’t feel like I’m getting anywhere, what could this be? There’s no evidence of fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, I’ve had regular smears, I had internal examination by consultant and that was fine, why are my periods still 12 days argh! Ps they used to be seven days and regular as clockwork, my cycle is still 28 days Just looong spells of bleeding. Thanks

I did after DC were born and when I was around 40 I got a Mirena coil which solved it completely. Went on to have two more taking me up to the menopause. Can't recommend it enough.

Thanks, I’ve heard about the coil but I want to know what the root of the problem is rather than masking it

How old are you? It sounds as though you've had thorough investigation and they found nothing. I'd be looking to relieve the symptoms regardless of the cause if you can.

I’m 32

I'm exactly the same since DC2! It drives me mad. I haven't been to the dr though. All smears are normal. No hormonal contraception (only condoms). I have no idea but I hate it. I'm 36.

So annoying isn’t it! I’ve had two c-sections one emergency and the second planned, I’m starting to wonder if it might be something to do with that? I’ve heard things about adhesions and tubes getting twisted

@Janel85 I've had the same (well the first was planned but he was prem so it turned into an emergency).

I've not heard that about twisted tubes. I think I might look into it some more.

AnnoyedByAlfieBear That’s interesting that you’ve had the same and are also suffering with this, will definitely mention it to the doc.
