Question about delaying period and mirena coil

Hi,
I can feel my period coming on but I want to know if I can delay it as I am going on holiday this Saturday. TBH, I should've been due on the 8th of the month but I have been missing periods over the last 6 months (stress of working nights). I've only had one period since June so thought I'd be ok. This slight blood today may fizzle out as it has in previous months but can I stop it just incase?

Also, does the Mirena coil stop periods and act as a contraceptive? Can they fit it at the GP surgery? Thinking of getting this.

Depends on the person as to whether periods stop. It did stop mine and does act as a contraceptive too. Norethisterone can delay periods
