Do you have them or is it one of your children? My DD had them at 8 months - too young to be treated. Rest of family were treated. She subsequently got them on a frequent basis when she was older. The treatment made me sick so i didn't take it again. I don't think io ever actually got them. You need to clean bed lined, toilet handles, short nails, frequent hand washing etc.

I am afraid I have them, checking older dd for head lice ha,ha! and felt a wee bit uncomfortable and low and behold I have spotted not head lice but worms Thing is I am breastfeeding dd2 and am worried that I may not be able to take drugs

this might be helpful

You do not actually need to be treated with drugs - hygiene measures will get rid of them in about 6 weeks.

Daft question, but are you sure it is worms? Did you see them moving? Sometimes you get white 'bits' round the anus which is a collection of 'stuff' rather than woems.

Evryone itches when looking for lice - could be you have made a wrong connection.

i think they can give you a different drug
if i were you i would treat everyone else,be extra cautious with hygiene and go to gp on monday
poor you x

Foxy, you are not alone. I am still Bf my 18mth old, and Ds has brought some wriggly friends home. All 3 of the kids have them, but so far not me and dh, although dh and the older two kids were treated, doc would not prescribe for me or the baby. will have to go back cos at that point the baby had no signs, but this morning spotted the little buggers in his poo . will have to see what they say, cos i can't retreat the older two for another 10 days. The kids are sick of being told to wash their hand, we are all wearing pants in bed and i had to cut all our nails back..Also the washing machine has not stopped since i found them on ds on wednesday, thank god for good weather.

Thanks all for comments, itching seem to stop and then start again, I am doing the pants wearing in bed, repetative hand washing with nailbrush and hopefully can sit it out (no pun intented!)Keep checking dd2 nappies and so far haven't spotted anything. I hate these parasites . Quite paranoid at the school in morning with all those little fingers poking in at dd2 etc, but without seeming a paranoid mum what can you do ??
