Breast cancer scare, would you be concerned?

Hi, I’m a 29 year old mother of two.

I went to the doctor because I’ve never been quite sure how to examine myself and had felt something in my left breast and wanted to check if it was anything to be concerned about. The gp showed me I’d been examining myself wrong and said there was no lump, however, when she examined my right breast she said my right side was more lumpy but it felt glandular and she stressed that she wasn’t concerned. That was a number of months ago and since then, there was a day where I woke up and randomly had a cracked nipple. It healed perfectly well in a day or two but was a little odd.

Today I woke up and I’ve got about 8 or 9 red pinprick dots around my chest area on both breasts and above my breast. petechia is the name for it (a doctor told me before as I’ve had a few before). Should I be worried about this? I’ve had recent blood tests and there was nothing of concern. I’ve got a GP appointment on Monday for a different unrelated ongoing issue so I can talk to my GP then but I’m feeling worried and scared and was hoping someone here might be knowledgable on this issue.

Thank you.

I don't think anyone can tell you anything useful online about your own symptoms. Try not to google. The doctor will refer you to the breast clinic under the two week rule if she has any concerns that it might be needed. A large majority of women referred to the clinic do not have cancer. Good that you haven't long to wait for the GP. Good luck.

I have had these red dot things on my breasts for years and I am 52 now. I have been to the breast clinic on numerous occasions due to lumpy breasts, the majority of my breasts contain cysts so I see The breast consultant regular and these red dots have never been mentioned to me as anything serious. Try not to worry go see your doctor again and explain your concerns.

Thank you, hopefully it’ll be nothing. The petechia have all appeared at the same time though which I thought was a bit strange. Trying not to worry but it’s hard not to. I know the odds are on my side though.

It will be nothing. I know its hard not to worry I am the worlds worst. Believe it or not you can get petechia if your bra is too tight, it can be as simple as that.
