Post sex pain - can anyone tell me what I've done?

This is my first post but I'm a long term lurker - posting for advice because I'm in a lot of pain and not sure what I've done.

I had a few days last week where I had a lot of sex (reunion with a partner and we got a bit carried away). Afterwards I felt like I might be getting cystitis or a uti ... constant need to pee, some discomfort/pressure but never got the burning when I urinate or any real pain. It was just uncomfortable. Been drinking lots of water and cranberry etc.

Tonight though the pain is strong. Its in my lower pelvis, to one side. I would describe it as something like menstrual cramps but worse than any I've experienced. I'm actually starting to feel really worried.

Can anyone shed light on what I might have done to myself?!

It's called honeymoon cystitis.

Sorry to suggest this but could it be an infection? You might consider getting a check up.

Thanks for replying... I have had cystitis before but never had this sharp and constant pelvis pain. Would that also be a symptom?

Yes. Honeymoon cystitis is a tongue in cheek name for a urinary tract infection. Common after a period of lots of sex.

One sided pelvic pain doesnt sound like cystitis to me. Op make a gp appointment or go to a sexual health clinic. They will sort you out.

I had this both times after I conceived. Was told some people can feel the implant into the lining of womb. Is that a possibility at all? Was really painful and cramps. Weeing a lot as well, feeling like I really needed to go and not much there. I thought I may have had an infection but I didn't, no stinging etc.

SpaghettiSister · 11/01/2018 22:08

Its unlikely id be pregnant, @london1971 but i suppose it is possible
