Sick as a dog - can it be Zithromax I'm taking

Started Zithromax yesterday for strep throat.
I started vomiting badly this morning and have had about 4 bouts of very strenuous vomiting (only yellow bile coming out as haven't touched any food since last night).
Being sick is listed as a possible side effect but it also says the side effects 'may' improve as your body gets used to the medicine...
Anyone else had this and has it got better?
I have a thumping headache too

I had it before a hsg and I felt terrible afterwards. And that was a one off dose.

Sounds like the strep throat, which is linked to scarlet fever in case you never had it.

But I've had the strep throat since last Friday/Sat and not felt as bad as this...
When you say linked to scarlet fever what do you mean? That it can cause it? Not actually sure I know what scarlet fever is

Scarlet fever is a complication of strep throat - rash, swollen tongue, peeling skin etc.

I used to sell that stuff and yes, Nausea was a possible side effect.
Does sound like an extreme case though and if you are throwing up that much you may not be absorbing the drug so it won’t work.
Don’t panic too much about Scarlet Fever, even if you do have that it’s not always serious these days. DS has it and was hardly ill at all.

Thanks all. I seem to be vomiting a good 2 to 3 hours after taking the medicine (i took it in 2 lots today instead of 2 in 1 go...this is what dr suggested), so I'm hoping I'm still digesting most of it?

Just bin it sounds awful. Cayenne pepper gargle is good for strep throat and high dose vit c.

Allicin max also works as natural antibiotic
