No period 4 months after stopping cerazette -age 49

I was on cerazette for 3+ years and didn't have any periods in that time. I have endometriosis and was having heavy periods and mood swings when I started the cerazette.
I stopped taking cerazette 4 months ago and I haven't had a bleed at all. I mentioned this to my GP at 2 months in and she said it wasn't a worry at that time.

How long should I wait before going back to the GP? I'm not bothered by the lack of periods but i am concerned that I will suddenly have a severe period with 4+ months of bleeding at once. Does anyone have any experience of this?
Thanks!

At 49 you could be going through the menopause or approaching it, in that case it wouldn’t be unusual for your periods to be irregular or sparse. Might be worth popping to your GP for a blood test to check your hormone levels but I wouldn’t be surprised if this was more a reflection of your stage of life than discontinuing the pill.

Thanks. I thought it could be due to my age. I'll ask GP for a blood test to check.

Thought I would update this. Period turned up 6 months after stopping cerazette. No pain whatsoever and just a normal length. A little heavy on second day but not too bad overall.
