Anxiety causing stomach discomfort or worse?

Hi, hoping someone can calm me a bit.

I've suffered with abdominal discomfort for over a year now. Only when touched/lightly pushed.

Occasional bloating. Had a sigmoidoscopy (spelling?) as stool showed inflammation, they said all looks ok.

Occasional tugging around ovaries.

I have an ongoing battle with anxiety, and wondered if these symptoms can be and have been with others, caused by anxiety?

As at the moment I'm worrying myself silly that I have ovarian cancer, as my period is a no show this month (TMI sorry).

Thank you

I have this and it's totally anxiety related. But definitely get checked out of your own peace of mind

I do. My stomach is the first thing to go when anxious, closely followed by my period being late or skipped.

Yep, my stomach can feel like it's tied up in knots due to anxiety. I really notice it as I don't suffer from anxiety all the time but when I do my stomach is the first to be affected.

Completely! I've been quite anxious over Christmas and wasn't able to eat the lovely food. My stomach felt like it had a knot in it and a lump of lead stuck in my chest. Apparently there are lots of nerve endings in your stomach.

Thank you all. It just hurts to touch, like an ache rather than something in or a small knotted area. But it's been a stressful few weeks so hoping it's just that making me worry more. Thank you for your replies though and hugs for the anxiety issues you all face too xx
