If shes not able to go 4 hrs comfortably between nebs then she should be seen. Does she have a cold aswell? Was it salbutamol in the neb or steoids aswell?

allieBongo · 23/04/2007 13:50

salbutamol and we have started prenisolone and singulair this morning. think i will keep phoning them

I would say if she's not managing 4 hours between she needs to be seen.
Poor little thing, she's really going through it at the moment isn't she.

When we had a home nebuliser for DS2, the doc's rule was always to go to hospital if he needed the nebs more frequently than every 4 hours. That meant he probably needed oxygen as well and monitoring of her blood sats.
The first time DS was admitted (18 months) he needed hourly nebs for 3 hours, then two-hourly for 12 hours etc, and he was also on 24 hour oxygen.

I really would take her to hospital.
Good luck, and let us know how you get on. Watching them struggle for breath is so frightening.

been to see dr. she has not deteriorated since this morning. am giving her half a dose every 2 hours now, and if she worsens we go to a&e then. she is quite happy, just coughing and wheezing when it wears off

sounds like your dd has been struggling for the last 24 hours or so, allie. Worth a trip to hospital maybe?

allieBongo · 23/04/2007 18:19

pointy, i'm just sorting it now, we haven't even managed 2hrs yet

pointydog · 23/04/2007 21:20
