As I'm on a sickness plan at work 😢

Started yesterday. Throat feels horrible, aching everywhere, chills, congestion and chills. Fever. It's just a virus right? This is the first year I didn't get the jab

Sounds horrible whatever it is.
Could be a flu-like virus but if you're too ill to go to work there's nothing you can do.
Flu tends to come on very quickly, you'll feel fine then within 30 mins you can barely get out of bed.
Rest up!

I’ve had flu. Trust me I wouldn’t have been able to type on mn. There is a nasty virus going round that causes high temp and aches etc.

This sounds like what I have. All the symptoms of flu but no cough. Also weird shooting pains. I think it's a virus. I'm on holiday from work as I'm a teacher but there's no way I'd have been able to work this week. I'm sorry to hear about your work but when you're ill there's really nothing you can do.

You can still get flu even if you had the jab.

When I had proper flu I really couldn’t move, let alone look / type on a phone. My mum once said to me if there was a £50 note on the floor and you were too ill to pick it up then it’s proper flu.

Just to say
Mumsnet myth no 1: if you've got flu you cant move even if your baby is on fire.

There's are many strains of flu and I wish this absolute bollocks would stop on here and bbasic googling would show you this
