High temperature, I would say that's the main thing. It's rather like flu. I can't think of anything specific until the spots appear.

Do you think you or your child may have CP?

johno · 22/07/2004 22:37

she didnt have a fever or anything the 10 days before spots came out?

Young children don't always have much of a fever (my ds did but several of his friends didn't). If they do, it's usually 1 or 2 days before the spots appear.

its going round his room at nursery, he only goes 2 hours a week, but he started with runny hose and sneezing yesterday, and he woke up this morning with a cough and he woke up bout 15 mins ago and sounds very horsey in his crying

Well, it's just a waiting game...if it's CP he'll get some spots! It sounds more like a cold to me though.

ds2 has just come out in spots. Was a little grumpy for 2-3 days before hand (wouldnt share his toys and oicked fights with ds1) no fever or anything. Not even a sniffle. First spot appeared y'day. Tiny and pink for a few hours then more liquid filled with a slight head to it, then a graduallt darkening, spreading boundary and more liquid. Today that 1st one has burst and scabbed over. Pink round the outside and yellowy in the center. They are supposed to come on the trunk first, but his are around his neck and upper arms.

Our first contact with cp was exactly 2weeks ago today. (Incubation in the books suggests 10-21days, commonly 14-16days)

My daughter has chicken pox at the moment. A few days before the spots came out she had a mild temperature and was a bit tired. My son has not had it yet. What a great start to the hols!!

Ds definately had a very high temp about ten days before the chicken pox spots came out.
