Would an ultrasound for a hernia show an ovarian cyst?

Just that really.

Been suffering with really nasty stabby type pains low down on the right hand side in my pelvis - I also have general stomach discomfort which the gp has put down to the iron tablets and daily steroids I take (adrenal insufficiency / Addison’s disease). Gp is adamant it isn’t appendix - this has been going on for months now and they have poked and prodded everything. He referred me for an ultrasound and I was hopeful it would find either an easily treatable hernia or a harmless ovarian cyst etc.

When I had the ultrasound the sonographer said everything looked normal and that they had been asked to check for hernias. They didn’t say anything about ovarian cysts and I stupidly didn’t ask and now I’m wondering if they would show or whether I’d need another type of scan?

I’m still none the wiser what this awful pain is and feeling really fed up with it. Thanks for any insight!

Just to add I have had lots and lots of different blood tests and they have all come back completely normal.

If they looked specifically at your ovaries then yes. But I’ve heard if someone going for an USS due to abdompain and they missed a five month gestation pregnancy so wouldn’t count on it.

Hmm that’s hopeful then.. they did go down low enough / right over the pain. They said there are no lumps that shouldn’t be there. I just got myself worried after googling (Confused) as it said something about needing an internal scan for ovaries (which I didn’t have). I have quite bad health anxiety anyway and having this pain and no answer for it is very distressing.
