I've just given DD an 'oatmeal in tights' bath (thanks MN) - do I use calamine lotion tonight or leave things as they are?

have you given piriton syrup? kept dc dosed with that throughout latest outbreak here and worked a treat

Racers · 20/04/2007 17:55

yes, thanks, she's had a couple of doses today and will have one before bed (she's nearly 2 but really tiny, so don't want to go overboard) - again thanks to MN for the piriton tip

I would say it's still ok to use a little of it but not too much. Def piriton.

If you can, get some aqueous calamine cream from the chemist (only about £1.75) it's much better for their skin

Def put some on after the bath imo, as they weren't itching everywhere I was able to apply it with some ease and the itches stayed away that bit longer.

Also finding Eurax (Eurex?) very effective on dd, but as she's only 17mo can't apply it more than once a day (have topped up her botty with it in the night though)

Thanks, did put some on before bed and she seems to have settled ok.
