Periods-when did yours return?

Just wanted to get an idea as mine have still not returned (not that thats too much of a bad thing! )

DD is almost 9 months and was exclusively breastfed for 6 months when we than have been gradually introducing solids.

Is this odd or normal? I know that b'feeding can cause them not to start until 6 months but not 9 months!

I would count that as a blessing!
With my 1st DD (CS) I exclusively BF for 18 months and mine started at 9 months and then very gradually. I wouldn't worry for a while but then maybe go see your gp if they don't return after another month or so.
With DS though (2nd baby- vbac birth), they started after the 3rd month so not sure what that's all about! Most unfair I thought. They've also been a lot heavier since then too. And I BF him for 21 months.

I'm still breastfeeding so maybe that why?
At the moment its a good thing me thinks-its gonna be a huge shock when they do start again

Mine havent returned either. I'm not too bothered. I am sure I heard somewhere that sometimes your periods dont come back for months and months.

I have 3DDs. Periods didn't return until DDs 1&2 (both b/fed) were 18 months old. I'm still b/f dd3 (1 next week) and still not had a period, so looks like it's going to be the same this time.

ooh ok so 9 months is quite normal then !

I'll count my lucky stars! It'll be just my luck they start on holiday in September

I BF for 18 months and my period didn't start until about 15 months, and then very slowly.

with my 3 it was, 8 weeks, 8 weeks and 9 months. I read somewhere that the averages time for return is about 18 mths! hth

with dd i breastefed her til one year, introduced solids at 4 months (so shoot me!), and stopped night feeds at 6 months and got pregnant again with no period 9 months post partum

am still feeding ds who's 9 months next week and i'm feeding him far more than i was dd at this age, and he'd still night feeding and doesn't eat amassive amount of solid food so i reckon it will be longer again

I'm still breast feeding DS2, he's 8 mths. I've had 4 periods already! Still breastfeeding him during the night too.

DDs 1&2 started being weaned at 13 weeks (weight stalled and h/v thought it was the right time) and despite lots of feeds during the night, periods still didn't return until they were 18 months old! DD3 is the only one who's made it to 6 months just being b/fed! So we'll see how long it takes this time!
