has anyone heard of these?

my dd had a hard lump on her eyelid last night, quite hard, seemed to have gone this morning, I googled eyelid lumps and came up with the chalazion, pictures looked similar to dd's eyelid, though hers was not as big or pronounced

I had a chalazion when I was younger - it's a fancy name for a blocked gland. It feels as if you have a small pea inside the eyelid. It needed antibiotics to shift it, and I had to use hot compresses to help it drain.

Maybe she only has a partial blockage, so it's been able to drain.

They're harmless, so I wouldn't worry too much about the one she had last night, but if it comes back again, let the GP have a look at it.

thanks wigwambam, thinking of trying the hot compresses for a few days, just to see if that eases the "blockage" of the charlizetheron (my name for it), I hope dd, who is 5, is up for this plan, she is not usually one to do things quietly
