To visit the walk in centre?

Sienna333 · 02/12/2017 08:55

The top of my bumcrack has a small white/flesh coloured spot on it and although it looks insignificant, it is stinging like mad and I can barely sit. AIBU to go to the walk in centre? I can't take a minute more of this and what's worse is that I am on my period :(

Did you see my question about getting help for your health anxiety alongside investigating your physical symptoms? What have you got to lose? You say you can’t deal with that alongside your physical illness... but you’d be able to deal with your physical illness a hell of a lot better if you weren’t so insanely anxious!

Chienrouge · 22/12/2017 21:35

Just to add my anecdote (not that it will help you in any way). I had constant diarrhoea, urgency, incontinence, bloody stools, mucous and pain when I was about 24. Turned out all to be stress related IBS. When I dealt with the stress and anxiety, the physical symptoms improved.

MyfanwyMontez · 22/12/2017 21:40

Please MN - it really is time to pull this thread. For obvious reasons.

Sienna333 · 22/12/2017 21:42

Really Chienrogue? I am surprised so many of you have had bleeding with stress related IBS. Did you have to have a colonscopy?

OP posts:
Chienrouge · 22/12/2017 21:44

No colonscopy.
Why are you avoiding the question about getting your health anxiety treated?

laudanum · 22/12/2017 21:47

Nothing good is coming of this thread. @Sienna333 I hope you get the help you need, but really enough is enough.

Twickerhun · 22/12/2017 21:48

Sienna I had all the same symptoms as you including the smelly farts, and it was an infection.

Naillig222 · 22/12/2017 21:49

The blood is from the pile that you already know that you have.

Sienna333 · 22/12/2017 21:52

Twickerhun do you mind me asking what infection it was?

Naill, I don't think so as they have cleared up.

Laud, I do find it helpful talking to people here.

Chienrogue, How was IBD ruled out then? I thought anyone with blood was sent straight for a camera procedure. I am not avoiding the question. I just don't feel I can handle both illnesses at the same time right now.

OP posts:
Twickerhun · 22/12/2017 21:56

Giardia. Grossest sicknes you can imagine but no need for cameras or long term health worries.

FabulouslyGlamorousFerret · 22/12/2017 22:03

I'd go with Giardia too ... now stop obsessing over your arse and go and comment on someone else's thread instead on focussing solely on yourself!!

SealSong · 22/12/2017 22:10

Why are people still responding to the OP? Clearly it;s not helping her at all. People need to stop posting. Even posting reassurance does not help someone with severe anxiety - it actually maintains it.

Just stop posting, people.
Or are some people actually enjoying seeing the OP get more anxious??

Twickerhun · 22/12/2017 22:11

Sorry seal. I was trying to help but I see your point.

Sienna333 · 22/12/2017 22:11

I will post where I want, thank you.

I don't have Guardis. That would have been picked up in a stool sample and I wouldn't have been ok for nearly a month if it were that.

OP posts:
Twickerhun · 22/12/2017 22:12

Sienna my giardia came and went, just like your issue. It’s easy to miss too.

Sienna333 · 22/12/2017 22:29

Hmm, I haven't been abroad this year though....

Sienna I've mentioned twice now that my DD at age 16 had bloody stools, weight loss and a high faecal calprotectin level. She was fast tracked for endoscopy and colonoscopy (within a month) due to likelihood of IBD. Her biopsies etc were NORMAL. She remains underweight at 6st but is healthy at present.

But you refuse to acknowledge any positive stories because it doesn't fit your dramatic narrative. You cherry pick what you want to read and reply to.

I myself live with a painful and disabling inflammatory autoimmune disease and I'm bowing out of this thread now because you are verging on the ridiculous and it's a tad annoying.
People like me cope with chronic illness day in day out; my world might have changed but I still lead a life. Seek help for your mental health issues and I suspect you'll gain some perspective.

BillyDaveysDaughter · 22/12/2017 22:40

When I had thsee symptoms last year they said that you can easily pick up giardia in this country too. My stool test was negative (they should really do three tests from different samples to identify giardia, it isn't in every bit of stool), my sigmoidoscopy showed signs of infection, but we never really found out for sure what it was. I was sick for 9 weeks and lost a stone and a half. And then it cleared up almost as quickly as it had arrived.

A year on and I've just had my gallbladder removed - might it have been connected? No idea.

But I'm wasting my time here anyway, you won't read it you'll just carry on wringing your hands and avoiding the real problem which is in your head. I spent ages writing thoughtful responses on one of your last threads, empathising with you and trying to get you to seek help and CBT. Nobody can help you until you see things clearly enough to help yourself.

Ok, that is my final contribution, I'm out.

I worry about how much pain I am going to be in, the hospital appointments and not being able to go anywhere with DD without worrying where the nearest toilet is.
I know I keep saying it but I am convinced my first flare up was back in October when I started with stomach cramps, diarrhea which turned bloody for a few days then went back to normal colour not to mention 'that' smell that the farts cause, it's the strongest, most horrible smell. That all went for a month but now I have this and it seems to be following the same pattern. I read a thread on mumsnet about a lady who had the same symptoms. Everyone was telling her to get straight to A&E. When she did, she was diagnosed on the spot. It's terrifying but I have to accept that this will be my experience as well. Our situations are identical.
