To visit the walk in centre?

Sienna333 · 02/12/2017 08:55

The top of my bumcrack has a small white/flesh coloured spot on it and although it looks insignificant, it is stinging like mad and I can barely sit. AIBU to go to the walk in centre? I can't take a minute more of this and what's worse is that I am on my period :(

Sienna333 · 03/12/2017 15:11

I think Martha means mentally unwell.

To answer the question, I thought it was a spot causing the irritation but now I have had the bleeding it is clearly not that.

OP posts:
Sienna333 · 03/12/2017 15:13

I am 99% sure I will be referred and told I have a chronic condition or a cancer. I know you may all roll our eyes at that but I am pretty sure that's what will happen.

OP posts:
spidey66 · 03/12/2017 15:20

I’m 99% sure you won’t. I think the spot and the bleed are unrelated. I think you’re just getting the bleed because of you’re period, at worst you’ve burst a blood vessel through straining esp if it’s a few spots of bright red blood on the tissue. I’m sure in cancer the blood is dark, mixed in with poo and often occult ie hidden.

LunasSpectreSpecs · 03/12/2017 15:24

Spidey, there's no point trying to rationalise with OP. OP is so caught up in her anxiety and paranoia that she is reading selectively, not listening or taking on board anything she doesn't want to hear, and is 100% fixed on her belief that the scratch on her bum is cancer and that she's dying. Yes it sounds totally ridiculous to everyone else, but to OP it's the only explanation.

OP - what are you going to do about tackling your health anxiety?

I'll go one further and say I'm 100% sure you won't. The blood is either menstrual or due to your recent stomach upset issues - we can't tell but you probably could if your brain was working properly. You've got yourself into such a state that you can't think clearly and you're amplifying this beyond all belief.
If you hear hoof-beats you don't think T-Rex, so if you see a bit of blood only starting at the time when you've got your period and been running to the loo a lot & causing irritation to the surrounding area there's no reason to think it's anything other than related to one or other of them.
You'd be better off getting some help for your anxiety (as everyone else has said) because that would then rule out cancer, chronic conditions and the end of the world.

TovaGoldCoin · 03/12/2017 15:44

Honestly dear, yiu don't have anything serious. Please try to concentrate on that fact.

Sienna333 · 03/12/2017 15:52

Tinysheep, I have already reported your posts as you are being very unhelpful and abusive. I have a severe anxiety disorder which you clearly don't understand so therefore you shouldn't be contributing to this post.
Right now I am positive I have a cancer or inflammatory disease. This thought is paralysing me and all I can do is cry and panic. Irrational and strange to many of you maybe. The fear is overwhelming and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I have no idea how some of you think I am ok physically. I honestly don't think I have piles. No external ones can be seen and internal ones aren't meant to ache or sting. I am terrified and I am sorry if that seems crazy but I really, really am.

OP posts:
Goatgirly · 03/12/2017 15:59

When you see the GP please bring up anxiety. Prioritise your mental health.
There is nothing concerning about what you've written about your physical health. Blood is likely to be from an internal fissure or pile, which the nurse didn't check for.
The spot you described is nowhere near your anus, so I'm not sure how you've confused pain in this site with anal pain?
Nothing about your post suggests cancer or an inflammatory disease.

It's your mind playing tricks on you. Try reading one of John Sarno's books - I first read his one on healing back pain but the theory is the same for the whole body. Your mind is exceptionally powerful & it fools your body into thinking there's something wrong with it. I was convinced I had plantar fascitis (I've spelt it wrong) because my feet were hurting & the symptoms fitted. Tried all sorts of insoles, stretching exercises etc. Then read that loads of cases of plantar whatever are really stress-related. Bugger me if I didn't then realise that my feet hurt when I've been sat at my desk getting stressed and don't when I'm thinking happy thoughts. I only have a tiny bit of foot whinginess now when I've been getting stressed about work - just enough to remind myself to relax and as soon as I do & mentally challenge it, boom it's gone. I've had the same with my back, with my shoulders... It's just my brain hanging on to the stress & trying to fool me. Your brain is fooling you, only it's doing a better job than mine because I recognise what mine is up to and challenge it. The only pain is in your brain - try chanting that instead of 'I've got cancer'. It rhymes better and might sink in if you try enough times.

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 03/12/2017 16:07

I think it doesn't matter what we say about HA as OP can't shift the focus to that. All we can do is reassure.
It's an illness, I'm guessing there will be a name change and posting about another health issue soon.

I really really hope you have help soon OP it sounds horrendous :(.

Can I ask what will you do if your GP says your fine tomorrow? Stop worrying or see someone else?

Steeley113 · 03/12/2017 16:07

Internal piles hurt much more then external. Stop being dramatic.

MarthaArthur · 03/12/2017 16:08

tinysheep the op has admitted to an anxiety disorder and has explained shw knows its not rational to you so why are you still belittling her? Maybe you need to go on a mental health awareness course or something. Stop bleating about wasting the NHSs time. And too the poster who said i wasnt reassuring when i said before its too late, obviously you are lucky enough not to have dealt with mental health.

Nike - that's a really interesting point you make about foot pain. I've been trying all kinds of insoles and cushions for my (self diagnosed) PF and not getting any relief. I'll try some relaxation exercises and see if that helps. I like that little chant.

DixieFlatline · 03/12/2017 16:18

I can't blame mentally ill people who are failed by an underfunded mental health sector for being a burden on the rest of the NHS. That's just what happens. Not the patients' fault.

Nikephorus · 03/12/2017 16:20

Tiny, anxiety is really crap to experience. I have it but to a much, much lower level than OP. There's no logic to it at all. You can't reason with the thoughts that easily (and sometimes not at all). Yes it's a waste of the NHS resources, but it's not like she can help it, not really. The NHS puts most of its resources (I'd guess) into looking after people who weigh too much (they eat too much = their fault), people who drink too much (their fault), people who smoke (ditto), people who don't follow a healthy lifestyle and so get sick from something whether physical or mental) (ditto their fault), people who've left it longer than they should to be seen & therefore take more resources (their fault) and so on. People who have done nothing wrong at all must be a tiny proportion.
OP is ill. But the ailments are just the symptoms of the mental issue & one of the medical professionals she's seen should be highlighting it. I'm positive she saw the GP at least once or prob more when she had her bowel issues - why did the GP not start treating the anxiety? Don't tell me it wasn't blatantly obvious because it is to anyone on here.

YellowFlower201 · 03/12/2017 16:20

This is a really painful read.
Stop taking rescue remedy. You're past rescue remedy and need professional help for your anxiety.
Whether you have cancer or not you must address the anxiety. Your life will be easier to manage if you do. Particularly if you do have a possibly terminal illness that requires medical input.

LavenderTrug · 03/12/2017 16:20

OP, you claim to have a health anxiety, but really it's just about your arse and your poo Hmm

SparklyMagpie · 03/12/2017 16:22

I've had internal piles and I can tell you now how much they hurt and itched and caused bleeding. The walk in centre did not check internally, tiles can't be ruled out

You are seriously ill yes... With Health Anxiety and that's what you should focus seeing your GP about
.

Nikephorus · 03/12/2017 16:23

MrsSeverus - try reading Marc Sopher's "to be or not to be..pain-free' - that's the one that told me about the link between PF & anxiety. It's only a tiny bit but it was enough to make my brain go kerching. It's the same theory as Sarno preaches.

silentsigh · 03/12/2017 16:24

Fear is a completely overwhelming emotion and that's why you just can't take in all the reassuring responses you've had. If you're crying and panicking it's obviously reached a crisis point and you need to get to your GP first thing. I used to have severe anxiety that dominated my life but with CBT and medication it's now under control.
