WASP STING! OUCH!

I was stung by a wasp on my little finger at 10am yesterday and I'm still suffering with it. I tried Piriton, Waspeze, hydrocortisone cream and junior Calpol! I was still in agony all day and can only just bend my finger.

Has anyone got any tips for easing wasp stings? I'm most concerned about the children being stung now. R

Rhiannon, my only suggestion is to absolutely make sure you have got the sting out of your finger... hope you are feeling better soon..

I was going to say the same about getting the sting out. DS1 once had to go to hospital because the sting was so firmly embedded, the sac can stay behind when the black pointy bit is removed and sometimes needs to be sucked out with a syringe. Perhaps a nurse at your local doctor's surgery could have a look at it for you. I think it is normal for some pain to remain for a day or so but if you can't bend your finger it might be worth having it checked.

I did get the black bit out with tweezers yesterday, no sac though. I'm nearly back to normal it's just a bit stiff. Unfortunately it's the finger that I severed when I was 11 so it's always been a bit bent and weedy! R
