Scared I have UC or Chrones

Had stomach waves of cramps, migraine, diarrhoea (Which turned bloody for a few days then returned to 'normal' diarrhoea) a few weeks ago. I am now slowly getting back on track but do still have to be careful what I eat and bum still feels weird (Like a bubble has got stuck). Stool sample came back normal and I am not in pain but am worried this was a first real flare up of ulcerative colitis or chrones or even worse anal cancer. Does it suddenly come on like this and can go away on its own? My doctor thinks I may have had food poisoning originally which can cause blood in stools.

You’re not well - you’ve got severe health anxiety, which you need to see your GP about.

Wolfiefan · 28/11/2017 19:14

So get back to the GP. TBH it could be the extreme anxiety making you physically unwell. But you won't know until you get to the GP and get the anxiety treated. This is no way to live.

Sienna

I have Crohn's. if you want you can PM me and we can talk about what the symptoms were, how it was diagnosed and how I live with it.

Sienna333 · 28/11/2017 19:25

Anxiety wouldn't leave me with just a bubble feeling in my bum though.
How do I PM you Negan?

No one on a forun can diagnose you of anything. No matter what they say/think/ feel.

Medicine is a science. It is based on facts not feelings.

Make a list of all your concerns- physical or otherwise - and see your gp. They are best placed to help you.

Wolfiefan · 28/11/2017 19:34

You would be amazed what anxiety can do. But until you see a GP and get it treated you won't know.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 28/11/2017 20:32

Maybe it is Crohns, maybe it’s IBS, maybe it’s something more sinister. No one here will be able to diagnose you, you know that don’t you. However your GP will be able to help with your terrible anxiety and any physiological problems you may or may not have.

I am deactivating my account. That last post has just fueled even more anxiety. This does me no good. I have no support in RL but this is not helping.

I think this is a good example of how seeking reassurance won't help. 90% of people on this thread have reassure you that there is nothing to worry about that this is health anxiety in action. BUT your mind has focused in on the one comment that said you could have a chronic illness. I know it feels like you have no support but there have been a lot of good suggestions on this thread around talking to your GP, seeking talk therapy and I would urge you to pursue that avenue now.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 28/11/2017 23:07

Sienna333 my post wasn’t intended to fuel your anxiety. However I am just a random on the internet - I don’t know what might or might not be wrong with you physically and nor, really, does anyone else on this thread. However you have had many sensible suggestions to go and see your GP about your anxiety, which, hopefully you will heed.
