Blood test reveals anaemic and sent to have camera

My father in law had been feeling dizzy. He went to the dr to ask to have his tablets changed (blood pressure, omeprezole) and the dr sent for a blood test. He has had it done 3 times (I’m presuming they have been looking for different things) and they have said he is anaemic and sending him for the camera. I’m panicking. What could it be? He has no other symptoms but a quick google (!) says it could be something serious

Oh dear, but try not to worry. Lots of things are investigated, onoynsome outcomes are serious or hard to treat.

Where are they putting the camera? Assuming endoscope, that it. Or could he mean a CT or MRI scan for advanced imaging.

Try not to worry. I know it’s easier said than done but there are so many things it could be, lots of them very treatable- stomach ulcer, Crohn’s disease, gallstones, coeliac disease- for example, any of which can cause stomach issues and anaemia.

Thank you. He said he is having the camera down his throat and has asked to be sedated. He is 67 so has the bowel screening a few years ago. I worry about everything so am finding it hard. Thank you for your replies x

I had the same symptom of anaemia, had an endoscopy and it was coeliac disease.

I was also anemic had endoscopy and turned out to have ceoliac disease

My brother had anaemia and had the camera, was fine.

My mother was found to be anaemic. She had an endoscopy and a colonoscopy in case she was losing blood somewhere in her system. Nothing was found. They decided it was poor diet. She had iron pills and regular blood tests.

So not necessarily serious!

Thank you. Glad to hear some cases can be solved with tablets.
