The link between having a Loop LLETZ and miscarriage

I have to have this procedure done on Thursday, due to having an abnormal smear result with CN1-2 showing positive for HPV.
I have had a colposcopy which showed my cells are more abnormal then discovered on the original smear, so now the next stage is to have a loop LLETZ.

As usual I am worrying myself silly by reading all sorts on the internet. I am 34 next month, and was hoping this year to try for our first baby. But I keep reading how by having this loop procedure increases your risk of miscarrying, and also causes defects in the baby. One article I read said some doctors are too quick to advise having this procedure, without thinking too much of the consequences, especially with young women or ones yet to conceive.

I am interesting in hearing anyones opinion on my findings, and if you have had this loop procedure, how old were you and did you manage to conceive ok afterwards?

Many thanks for any help...

is the loop procedure the same as laser?
I had laser treatment about 7 years ago and went on to have to normal pregnancies.

Yes it is the same. But its electrical [sp] rather then lazer now.
Was it your first baby, and may I ask how old you were?

I was about 22/23 at the time and had my first baby 2 years later

thanks whoops.
How was the procedure for you? did you experience any bad side effects? Is it the kind of procedure you can have done and go home on your own afterwards? or do you need to bring someone along with you.

I think I took my Mum with me as I was advised not to drive after.
I found colposcopy more painful than the laser treatment and I think I just had the one day off.
