dd2 cough is not clearing

she has had a cough since before xmas. last week the GP diagnosed asthma and just gave her a blue inhaler, no steroids. she is meant to have it twice a day, but the cough is getting worse again. dd2 now appears to have a temperature as well. I am thinking maybe she needs something else as well. She is meant to be back at nursery tomorrow, but I dont think she is well enough, even if this isnt catching, she is just shattered with coughing so much.

Poor thing, the blue inhaler is just for the relief of symptoms, i.e. the wheezing, the other inhalers are cortisone that needs to be used over a course to take effect and you have to continue to take it.

Is it possible that the change in weather could be contributing?

Unfortunately the temperature in dd2 does sound like it could be a cold as well ds had a cold then carried on for nearly 6 weeks.

Try some vicks or karvol in boiling water in your bathroom sink while bathing her tonight, and use some vicks on her chests to help breathing or karvol on a tissue near her.

Good Luck, I think you should ask your GP to take another look, asthma can be dreadful.

I am going to try and get her a GP's appointment for tomorrow, her eyes are still sore as well.

i think she may need some anti biotyics and possibly the becotide inhaler as well. dd1 is on both inhalers, so am used to this now
