A bit worried about DH, tell me I'm being silly.

DH has just casually mentioned to me that he had a bit of a funny turn today. He said he'd not experienced anything like it before.

He said it felt like mild indigestion that was vibrating through his chest up to his head, when it reached his head he nearly blacked out - then it was gone. He said it wasn't a pain as such more like an intense vibrating/tingling.

I did wonder whether it was fainting but he's never fainted before so he doesn't know how that feels like.

He's 52 by the way, recently had a good MOT by the doc which was all fine (cholesterol, blood pressure etc).

I've told him to ring 111 which he has but it says serious delays due to busy and he won't go to A&E because it's Saturday night and bonfire night (or might as well be) and it will be mobbed (his words not mine). So he's gone to bed...I'm down here now fretting that he's had some kind of mild heart attack or something. I do suffer from health anxiety so indulge me a little.

I'm sorry but I think it would be irresponsible to reassure you. He should definitely get checked out.

I'd be of the frame of mind that tonight will be mayhem in A & E due to the amount of events on, but I'd want to phone up in the morning and get him checked. Hope he's OK.

Please go to A and E as others have said. It might be ok, but you need to be on the safe side as the symptoms you describe are very similar to what my dad had and ignored before having a heart attack. Fortunately he was ok in the end (after an emergency operation followed by a lot of stents), but things could have been very different. I really don't want to scare you more, but just think it's better to get him checked out. Hope he's ok.

I have consulted Dr Google but his description doesn't really fit with anything. What he described to me sounded similar to when I've fainted in the past but it was the vibrating/intense tingling that has baffled me.

Surely 111 should ring you back, did he actually speak to them?
I would ring again,
Could he have had a panic attack,it sounds very much like what I have had in the past
Maybe he has been more stressed than he realised,

Hi Hun, just wanted to mention that if he does go down a&e and says he's had/has chest pain he will be seen as a priority. I've had this twice and the waiting time is 3 hours but they have you in instantly so please don't let it being "busy" put him off if he needs to be seen

Stringofpearls - I was thinking heart attack but his description didn't really fit with what the Internet says. I'm not a bloody doctor though. If it were me I'd be hot footing it down tonight but you know what men are like .

He rang 111 but it was a recorded message saying they were experiencing a high volume of calls.....etc

He's asleep now.

He's just retired this week. He's been elated/stressed/excited/overwhelmed all week. We paid our mortgage off yesterday...it's been a mad week.

Just thought I'd update. DH rang 111 this morning again and they sent an ambulance straight away (even though he insisted he could make his own way to hospital as he's feeling fine). Anyway the paramedics ran some tests and there is a very slight abnormality on the ECG so they've carted him off to hospital for some further tests.

I'm still at home because DS is in bed but I'm gonna drop him at my mums and go down I'm a bit, even though DH has insisted I don't make a fuss. Bloody men eh?!

Yes they were excellent.

His ecg says left anterior fascicular block. His dad has a heart condition which apparently started off like this...he's praying it's not that.

Sat waiting for a doctor now.

Glad it’s being properly investigated.

Get it checked, probably GP tomorrow.

Thanks, he's been discharged. Not a heart attack thank goodness but there is an abnormality on his ecg that the doctor has said he should get investigated. But apparently he's not going to drop dead imminently.
