My 7 month ds has had a cold for over two weeks, he still sneezes and his nose is very blocked!!! He finds it very difficult to sleep. My dh and I, have been nose drops, elavated cot, olbas on tissue, and when that doesn't work, which unfortunetly doesn't alot of the times, we give him medised.

I really don't want to keep on giving him medicines!!!! Any advice would be appreicated

When you do the nose drops, put quite a lot in, not just a couple of drops. Try putting the saline solution in a syringe and squirting a good 2ml in each nostril to really wash away the snot properly. Do you have a suction thingy to "blow" his nose for him? Very useful.

Good luck!!

Btw, 2 weeks is not long for a baby cold - nothing unusual

Thanks 'Itshardworkbeingamum' i'll try putting more slaine drops, i used to just put two tiny drops.

Also good to know that 2 weeks isn't a longtime for baby to have a cold, was getting worried

The saline makes them cough and splutter a bit - don't worry about that. My doc says if you do it regularly you reduce the likelihood of the cold turning into an ear infection as well.
