Cradle cap- any advice?

DD (9 m) has reoccurring cradle cap. I?ve never really done anything about it as it always clears up by itself but this time it seems a bit worse. Any tips on how to get rid of it, or what causes it. Thanks!

DD is 2.5 and still suffers from cradle cap! She had it really badly last summer when she was 18mo, her head was so stinky! I asked the doc who said it's a fungal infection (a bit like athlete's foot) which sometimes clears up on its own when they are babies but sometimes hangs around. He told me to use a special shampoo once a week and it cleared up. She was fine through the winter but I see it's coming back now, the warm weather makes it worse so I'd better get some more of that shampoo.

dentinox cradle cap shampoo has worked every time on dd (8 months). now i use it when i see the first signs and it tends to ward it off!

I use olive oil. I would also check if any shampoo or bubble bath may be causing it. My dd used to get it and I realised that they had been putting cologne on her hair at nursery just before I picked her up.

Wow, why do they do things like that at nurserys?! Thanks for the advice everyone. I never use any cosmetics on her hair as she hasn't really got any yet! Will give olive oil a go first and if not get some dentinox.
Prob stupid question but when you put olive oil on do you just rub it on and leave it or wash it off at any point?

i to use dentinox shampoo on ds (8 months) works a treat. one or two washes and voila, cradle cap no more!

olive oil is fab - better than detinox, ime. Coat scabby bits in oil. Leave for a while. Brush through with soft baby brush - satifying big clumps of scabby stuff come off. Wash hair (you'll defn need to use shampoo)
I've had friends also say you can put it on before bed, leave overnight (with towel to cover sheets/pillow!) then brush & wash in the morning, but I've never fancied that!

Once you've got in under control, make sure you brush hair every day (even if she's not got much) to keep on top of it.

I was told kids with more sensite skin tend to get it more (ds has only just got rid of it & he's 3...)

I also found that massaging olive oil on the head couple of hours before my ds's bath over a couple of weeks got rid of cradle cap completly.

Masydaisy I am in Spain, I doubt they would do that in England.

I found Dentinox and a soft brush wasn't that effective, but Dentinox, olive oil overnight and combing with a nit comb got rid of it for good.
